
Cristina was born and raised in Romania, where she earned her M.Sc in Computer Science. In 1999, she moved to Helsinki, Finland to work for Nokia in their mobile industry department. Two years later, she transferred to the US to continue her work and later completed her MBA to further her education. Cristina has two children, Ilinca and Luca, whom she’s been homeschooling for about 14 years years. Ilinca is currently a Peace and Justice student at Wellesley College and a Geography Student and Oxford University. Luca is a rising high school junior.
In 2015, inspired by Model United Nations, Cristina introduced the program to the homeschool community in New Hampshire. She began preparing students for conferences in collaboration with the Political Science Department of the UNH and their Model UN team Advisor and leaders. In the summer of 2016, she completed the Advisor Training through Model United Nations Institute, an educational company with the mission of “Model UN for All.”
Currently, Mosaic Explore serves two cohorts of students: a middle school group (grades 7-8) and high school group (grades 8-12).
Cristina continuously updates and refines her courses in order to support the growth of both experienced as well as new students. Committed to lifelong learning, she has completed the “Global Diplomacy: the United States in the World” course through SOAS University of London and the “Intro to Peacebuilding” course through the US Institute of Peace. Between 2022-2024 she was one of the Education Ambassadors for the Council of Foreign Relations, attending monthly events focused on teaching global literacy through research and simulations.
Over the past decade, Mosaic Model UN delegation has attended 28 conferences across North America, winning 54 individual awards and 4 delegation awards.
